
A Look at Title IX and Women's Participation in Sport.
Since
the passage of Title IX in 1972, women's athletics has seen a huge surge in
interest.
The number of women varsity athletes in college has more than tripled.
Although these strides have been made, equity has not been reached.
The number of women participants in college sports is 37% of the
athletes while they make up 53% of the students.
The money recieved and allotted towards womens' sports programs pales
in comparison to mens' programs.
